Around 16 hours because I put a $5 2000 mAh battery in it, and make use of the light at dimming feature in the newer firmwares (which on its own dramatically improves the standard battery life) and much like every other controller I have, when I'm done playing it gets sat on the charge stand, both functional AND tidy.
Now the real question is, who plays for more than 8 hours at a time? Thus making the whole argument redundant to begin with.

Yeah, nice way to avoid a direct answert: 4 hours.
You try to argue that pro doesn't have a vastly superior battery when Ps4 gamepad has 4 hours and XBO gamepad doesn't even have a battery to beggin with. Even if Pro lastsd 20 hours instead of 40 still has a vastly superior battery, there is no way to spin that.

Oh, you're one of those people.
"Well, the crew over at DualShockers did a bit of good old fashioned science, and their results were intriguing to say the least. They found that on the standard setting, the input device lasted around 11 hours, while on the 'medium' option, it lasted 11 hours and 42 minutes. Interestingly, on the dimmest possible brightness, the DualShock 4 lasted 12 hours and 21 minutes."
4 hours, pfft, try owning one.
