If your TV has a headphone jack, you can buy an extension cord for your headphones, cost $10 or less on Amazon. Had to do that last gen when living with other people in an apartment. Not nearly as convenient as plugging your headphones into your controller, but it works. I even bought a splitter, so I could have both headphones & speakers plugged in all the time, muting the TV when it was headphones time.
Monitors without a headphone jack seems more problematic.
