More important will be the quality of that single player experience. I am inclined to support single-player focused RPG's and action games where I can. But will still only buy a high quality game.
In this case it will be very telling if the review embargo ends significantly prior to release date. All the tripe developers have rolled out in the past doesn't apply here (reviewers need to wait until there are enough people online for the full experience, our servers aren't going up until game day etc). If the review embargo ends the night before release or something stupid like that, its a clear sign the game is not what it has been made out to be.
Even if it weren't, on principle I'd not buy the game until it was significantly cheaper, so as not to support the practice.
