No one's overreacting. What would you think if a friend of yours was murdered on their own house? I'm sure it wouldn't be "that sucks and all". I know nothing about how dangerous Anápolis is, but it really doesn't matter. Brazil as a whole is a dangerous place to be in (hard to find anyone who's never been robbed, I was on that select lucky few until some months ago), but that doesn't excuse this kind of stuff. It shouldn't be normal to expect danger when you're just walking on the street, let alone when you get home. I've been reading this thread all day and it's gotten me feeling really depressed. I hadn't said anything because I just couldn't think of words that would sound respectful... I've no idea how awful it must be to lose a friend like that. |
That's the thing. I agree that a lot of places in Brazil are dangerous, but not all of them. Not even close. If you say that, you must live in a somewhat dangerous area. Plus, most countries have dangerous cities/neighbourhoods/etc. It's not an excuse... it must be terrible to lose a friend that way indeed, but all I'm saying it that given the place he lived it's not really surprising and that it doesn't mean that ALL places here are dangerous like that. That's where I think people are overreating (let's face it: we, brazilians, are drama queens when it comes to our country... we like to criticize everything, even the parts that are good).
Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
