Edit:  By minority I mean any group that is a portion of the whole, but wants to assimulate the whole at all costs.  I'm not talking about racial or religious or gender minorities.  I am talking  about any idea group.  Because there are few real group thought ideas that encapulate all of us.   I hope this makes sense. 

This. Even if you remove the component of identity, all it seems to do is allow for a larger margin on which ideas should be discussed. But, once the hive mind sets in, it takes a mammoth effort to stop it from truly taking over.

Case in point: 4chan /pol/ (I can't use 8chan /pol/ because it's still a cesspit of chaos and brit/pol/ threads)
