didn't & couldn't are two different things.
3DS didn't sell well at $250 when it had shitty software output, a lame special feature & terrible marketing.
It's unknown whether or not 3DS could have sold well at $250 if it had solid marketing/features/software.
I feel pretty confident that people will think the hybrid concept is far more attractive than glassless 3D, so far the marketing has been great and the software lineup is far better than the lineup 3DS had pre-price cut so 3DS doing poorly at $250 does not mean Switch will do poorly at $300.
