No?

The "mistranslation" from the tweet states that they're considering a successor to the 3DS, however many people semt to think it was being under heavy consideration by Nintendo. This clarifies that it's just PR talk, and they're very likely not seriously considering it or developing it, the point is to further reinforce that the 3DS will still exist alongside the Switch in 2017 as a budget oriented variant with a fleshed out library.

Thats clearly just your opinion on it. The "mistranslation" said that Kimishima and Nintendo were considering a 3DS successor. This translation says the same thing with a few more details. The title of this thread is misleading and should be changed. There was no mistranslation, they just added a few details which don't change their stance on it. Their still considering it.

"Nintendo will keep considering it as always."

"We are always thinking about it"

This pretty clearly shows that a 3DS successor is in consideration as much as it was beforehand. A 3DS successor theoretically could happen, but this doesn't mean it's under heavy consideration or development; which most people thought it did. These "little details" provide a bigger context of the statement - considering that they've previously talked about the 3DS being a budget variant with a 1000 game library it only makes sense to provide an open ended conclusion to keep that market alive until they milk it dry.

The same was said with the Wii U and the Switch and the Gameboy and DS. Nothing points to it ever coming to fruitition and that tweet was a mistranslation / misunderstanding that people thought meant something more than it actually did.
