Well.... I think it depends of our daily routine, family needs etc.

As a single who lives alone and still pay rent, I cannot always vary what I eat, because I´m always looking for ways to save money and to reduce as much food waste as possible.

I normally buy some groceries - fruits, vegetables - and prepare carbohidrates on weekends (like rice, beans, pasta, potato). I freeze the cooked carbs in small portions, so when I need a meal, I just have to heat one portion, cut some fruits or vegetables for a salad and cook some protein (chicken, meat, eggs, whatever). So I eat almost the same thing every day except for the protein.

The good thing about it is that not only it makes a lot easier to bring my lunch to my job - instead of spending money on restaurants - but I also do not take much time to prepare my dinner.
