~3.7million "on shelves" sounds rather high, but might not be unusual for a fast selling item like the PS4 after a big holiday quarter
alternatively I think there is a small chance the shipment figure actually includes PSVR, while the sold-through number they disclosed doesn't - feels a bit weird that the PS4 outdid PS2's biggest shipment (Q2 FY2003 - 8.8m), yet didn't break 20m sold in the calendar year
