Data allegedly stolen from 2.5 million PlayStation and Xbox gamers using ISO forums

Data breach apparently sees 2.5 million accounts belonging to PlayStation and Xbox pirates hacked.

Users of PSP ISO and Xbox 360 ISO, once two popular forums where users would distribute pirated games, were once subject of a data breach which saw information stolen from 2.5 million gamers, reports The Sun.

What’s interesting about this story is that the information appears to have only just been confirmed, despite the hacking taking place in 2015.

The report, which seems to have originated from The Sun, cites no sources as to where the information has come from about the breach, which leaves us a little bit suspicious as to the authenticity of the claim.

The news is spreading like wildfire across the net, largely by mainstream media and local rags, but we’ve still yet to find a definitive source.

Nevertheless, users of those forums may want to change their passwords just in case.

PlayStation Universe is digging into it deeper to verify the claims.
