do we even know that muslims "aren't usually victims" in terrorist attacks within EU/US?  the victim statistics I've seen make no mention of the religion of the affected (somehow only the religion of the perpetrators is seen as important)

Well most of the attacks I've read about in the US/EU are NOT at religious places so it wouldn't make very much sense to try report on religion of the victims. Obviously it is easy to report the attackers religion as he is one person and not a diverse group of 60 or so.
