I think MS should be very concerned with conceding losses of around 100k consoles in months like these.... whats the point of whatever they accomplish during the holiday seasons if in an off season month that accomplishment is just wiped clean?

Because by all indications it seems like the PS4 is taking January with at least around 40k+. Or am I missing something here.... whats their end game? Lose all the months again then win two or three months at the end of the year and call that momentum?

I think Microsoft knows that their initial mistakes affected the Xbox One as if it had launched a year later.  It seems the PS4 was an all out great gaming console when first released.  You take that and couple it with the mistakes Microsoft made which took a year for them to rectify.  But by then, the PlayStation brand was more reputable over Xbox.  And even now you look at the Xbox when compared to PlayStation, the PlayStation just has more to offer even after Microsoft has pushed out constant Xbox One promotions.  So they have to do all they can to prevent the Xbox One from appearing irrelevant to the PS4.
