I disagree. A lot of games used DLC to breathe new life into games, or bring in some interesting new ideas and mechanics for the games.
DLC done right: Splatoon, Witcher 3: Blood and Wine, Dying Light: The Following
GTA 5 didn't receive story based or single player expansions because all the focus was on the multiplayer. Online is certainly more profitable to Rockstar rather than $20 story based expansions (which is quite unfortunate).

DLC done wrong: COD map and gun packs, season passes that don't actually include everything, the sims: stuff packs, Dead rising 4(the ending is locked behind an upcoming paid DLC)

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.
