The fee sucks big time because, again, games like Guild Wars 1 and 2 only asked for an entry price of purchasing the game and got amazing support without the need for any fees at all. Kept out pay2win (GW2 less than GW1, though), has stable servers working and some months you get new and free content added.

 

some months you get free content added in GW? FFXIV gets content added every 2-3 months. guaranteed.

edit: I wish FFXIV was free also, but this is what I do..; I end my subscription and take a break after I've burned out myself from doing new contents, then I come back when new ones is added.
