Just recently, I was forced to buy a $40 USB dongle for my PS4 in order to use a pair of non-Sony branded Bluetooth headphones I received for Christmas. Admittedly this wasn't something I researched (though they were a gift anyway, so it wouldn't have mattered), but I was surprised at never having heard any complaints on this before now. To me, it was a major inconvenience, and having to spend extra money on it definitely left a sour taste in my mouth.

Now, before anyone starts, I'm not pointing fingers to say one console (or fanbase) is worse with these practices than others, and honestly, I think you'll find examples like this on any console manufacturer. Does it absolve Nintendo? No...definitely not...but I do think the accessory pricing complaint is a bit overstated. Companies always overprice their accessories, and anyone that thinks this a Nintendo-only issue honestly needs to broaden their field of vision.

Anyways, about this thread, make sure to keep the conversation specific to why or why not the OP's point is valid, rather than making strawman arguments about other fanbases.
