They don't want to stop your right to drink, just say you can't drink on public transportation.

It makes a ton of sense. An inebriated person is more at risk of not being able to properly adjust their balance in accordance to the train or buses movements. Also, if they get sick and throw-up, as I have seen people do on buses, then it renders that bus or train car unusable by the general population until it is clean.

Why do the hard working people who have to resort to public transport have to be subjected to this, when the only inconvenience for the drinker is to have to wait the duration of his trip before he drinks again? He can drink 100% of the time if he wants, he just has to avoid drinking on public vehicles.
