You keep talking about the average Joe in the hope that gives credibility to your argument ... so I'll play along. The Average Joe doesn't care about power either so they'll go for the console that's currently the 'in thing' or the console their friends are playing on. If people want to talk about Joe Blogs then they'd better be aware it doesn't serve their argument well.

1 Joe Blog picks PS4
2 Informed gamers pick PS4
3 Those interested in PS4 exclusives pick PS4
4 Those looking for a bigger library pick PS4
5 Those people who like 'niche' titles pick PS4
6 Those people interested in XB1 exclusives pick XB1.

Unfortunately 3 and 6 no longer count ...

The problem with this is that you put exclusives as the only positive value on Xbox side. How about adding other things like online experience, media experience, controllers and other devices etc.

1 - Hope he likes his purchase

2 - Informed gamers can also get other consoles than PS4. I wouldn't consider myself as someone that isn't informed as it's a huge part of my job yet I still choose Xbox over Playstation.

3 - Of course

4 - I think they could go for PC as well but ehh!

5 - This one is touchy. There are niche titles on every platforms. Just because PS has more than Xbox doesn't put PS as default winner especially if that person looks for specific games. Someone could want games like Cup Head and grab Xbox instead.

6 - Of course

7 - Like stated above there are many more reasons why someone would choose a console over the other.
