Because without exclusives this is the experience casual shoppers are going to have buying an Xbox One come this holiday season.
Shopper: Okay, so there's a $300 Xbox One, and a $500 Xbox One...What's the difference?
Worker: Well, games will look better on the $500 one.
Shopper: Do they both play the same games?
Worker: Yes.
Shopper: I'll take the $300 one.
I know, because I work in the electronics department of a major retailer and I have this exact conversation about the PS4 and PS4 Pro all the time. Most people don't give a shit about playing games in 4K, even if they have a 4K tv. Hell, I had a woman buy a 4K tv, and a DVD player the other day. Without exclusives only hardcore gamers are going to care, and they're going to care about exclusives and/or just have a gaming PC.
Don't expect strong sales for the Scorpio.

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
