Because the PS4 is the best selling console for a huge part thanks to its vast and diverse lineup of games and because people knew Sony will deliver the games.
Also multiplats sell the most on PS4, people are not gonna switch platforms 4 years late into the gen just because Scorpio promises a few more p's, they're locked to the PS ecosystem just at the moment Sony is firing on all cilinders.
It's too late to switch mid gen platforms and too early for a fresh new gen, Scorpio will be in an awkward position imo.
