That's funny...I read the Ice and FIre books up till book 3 before I got caught up on One Piece, and I remember thinking at the time that OP has similar world-building...without leaving me depressed afterwards. Yeah, most long-running series of any kind leave you thinking that they're eventually making it up as they go along. One Piece, on the other hand, makes you think it was all planned out 20 years ago. It's an amazing achievement.
Which brings me to Yamada-kun. I'm really glad it's ending so the mangaka, who I like quite a bit, can move on to something else. I loved the first class of witches, so to speak, but then dropped it because it felt pointless. It definitely had that Bleach type "this is popular, let's draw it out" feeling.
