You are wrong because in order to get Titanfall 2 they'd need a powerful console. One that can't be a hybrid console. Nintendo's future is in fusing their home console and handheld departments. AAA third-party support needs to be sacrificed for that, but it will be worth it if the Switch gets the combined support of the Wii U and 3DS plus more.

Why would anyone buy another console that is extremely similar to the PS4 and XBONE? Why would the people who are interested in AAA third party games all of a sudden make the switch to this new console? Not going to happen. Maybe if one of them leaves the console market...

Nintendo doesn't need Titanfall 2. They need to seek even closer ties with Western indie developers. Indie games are becoming more and more important and ambitious.

The Switch will get the following important indie games this year:

  • The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ (it will release on the Switch before the PS4 and XBONE if I'm not mistaken)
  • Fast RMX (a futuristic racing game with over 30 tracks at 1080p and 60fps)
  • Minecraft: Story Mode
  • Minecraft: Switch Edition
  • No More Heroes 3 (Suda said he's going to work together with indie developers)
  • Oceaanhorn
  • Redout
  • Rime
  • Shovel Knight (Switch will get the last DLC campaign before the other consoles)
  • Snipperclips
  • Sonic Mania
  • Stardew Valley
  • Steamworld Project 2017
  • Syberia 3
  • Yooka-Laylee

Now Nintendo needs to do the sensible thing and contact who ever made Undertale for a port to the Switch, maybe with timed exclusivity or something.
