Yesterday I learned that in One Piece we first meet rayleigh in chapter 19 in a two panels at the bottom of page 8 and yet we don't see him again chapter until chapter 500.

Also here is his first appearence in the Anime.

Nice catch. When I was catching up on One Piece, I spent a lot of time on the wiki reading random trivia like this. Oda really loves setting up plot points long before they're utilized, like Brook's crew being a key point in the Twin Peaks arc in the early chapters of the manga, Doflamingo's power being shown hundreds of chapters before being explained, and Haki being used all the way back in chapter 1, 600 chapters before it was officially given a name. Below is another of my favorites. The image on the right is from back in the Alabasta arc, all the way in chapter 157.

Basically, a random tattoo typo turned out to be a setup for something much bigger...that Oda had already planned on Sabo's character at the time Ace's introduction. Considering that Sabo wasn't formally introduced until Luffy's flashback ~Chapter 600...this kind of setup is insane. I can't think of an author in any medium that foreshadows to this extreme...and it's part of why I love One Piece so much. You literally can't rule out any minor plot point balooning into something much much bigger later on. It honestly feels like I'm being rewarded for following the story closely, rather than being disappointed in seeing certain plot points be forgotten or go absolutely nowhere.

Too tired to write my manga updates tonight. I thought this was funny though.

Was rewatching some scenes from Marineford the other day and noticed the cross out S. Also most of Usopp's lies are also foreshadowing future moments/events
