"Dead" Series

Grandia - To me this series was a good decade ahead of its time with the greatest battle system I've ever played in an RPG. It perfectly balances strategy with fun to create an engaging and challenging experience. The characters are bright and memorable with Grandia II (DC, PS2, PC) being the standout entry. I love Grandia so much that games that mimic it recent such as Child of Light (which receive praise from critics for its battle system) immediately get my attention. My most desired game of all time is either Grandia IV or Grandia II:Remake.

"Constant" Series

Zelda - It is hard to describe what makes Zelda so special, how every entry seems to remind me of the brilliance of gaming. The first entry was a revelation and I still hold Link to the Past up as one of the greatest games ever made. An amazing balance of puzzles, adventure, and combat that thrills me even after a dozen times saving the day as Link. Even though Breath of the Wild doesn't excite me as much, I know eventually I'll buy it, because "Zelda" outside as few odd entries has been the most consistently good video game series I can think of.

"New" Series

Gravity Rush - No game of the past five years has surprised me as much as Gravity Rush. I expected nothing and ending up loving the first game and remastered version making the sequel my most anticipated game of 2017. I really hope Sony makes an entry each generation because the controls, world, and characters are so vibrant and pull me in a way I haven't enjoyed a game in a long time.

Honorable Mentions

Mario, Ratchet and Clank, Disgaea, "Warriors", Uncharted, Mario Kart, Mass Effect, Smash Bros., Senran Kagura, and Castlevania. I'm sure I forgot some as well as enjoy so many series.
