Maybe the word 'traditional' would be better? Because in a way, none of the last 5 main series FF games have been traditional FF games.
But turn basee style combat does constitutea Final Fantasy game, it's the very basis it's combat is based on, removing it is removing the style of gameplay the franchise is known for.... FFXV is the only one to do this however because it was a spin-off at first. FFXIII atb just wasn't very good.
