IMO, it's a worse controller. Too much focus on unwanted motion controls. Have to buy a separate piece to use it as a normal controller and charge it. The D-pad, something Nintendo is known for, is now shit. And maybe simplistic games won't need another set of Joycons, but anything else is most likely going to require two sets. Otherwise gameplay will be very limited. Yes, they could. If I can get a 10.1" tablet with a higher resolution than 1080p and decent specs for less than $200, Nintendo can sure as hell pump this sucker out with a 1080p 6.2" screen for $200, especially if they went with less obscure chips. Hell, the Chinese tablet they ripped off is the same price as the Switch, and that comes with pretty good specs, a 800p glassesless 3D screen, and a rotatable 8MP camera. And since there's nothing special about the dock, they could have sold it separately for $20-$30. Nintendo is price gouging, no way to deny it. |
I mean sure, you can get Chinese shit that feels cheap and works like horse shit for 200 bucks, but remember, you are also getting shit games and a battery that will drop it's charge % to nothing in like 1-2 years, and that's assuming if your charging tip is still functioning by then and haven't snapped off already, or, you can get a Nintendo Switch with controllers that actually doesn't feel like cheap plastic, which is already confirmed by most hands on videos so far. The fair comparison is about the line of mmmmm...... do you want to buy a PS4 or a Wii U right now? I mean, go ahead and buy that 200 dollar shit Chinese tablet if you think that'd make your point stronger, which I highly doubt would be the case. I'm also willing to bet they'll come out with a dpad left joycon down the road, just watch.
