How about this? make the bloody grip that comes with the console support USB pass through so you can charge your joycons + be able to play on the big scren (TV) while charging the joycons AND that way if you buy a second pair of joycons you can slide that into the console thats in the dock.

Less convoluted approach and more functional. And look!!!! Took me all of 1 min to think of that.

Yes, you don't even need to buy an extra grip. You simply buy two extra Joy-cons and slide them on the dock. When the Joy-cons you have on the grip run out of juice, you simply swap them with the ones of the dock.

Seriously Rol, they went out of their way to make two different production lines for the two grips. They should have only produced the one that comes with the USB port in the first place. There's no excuse for the nickle and diming here.
