Wow..... they've got you good havent they?
So nintendo did this cause they were being very thoughtful?
How about this? make the bloody grip that comes with the console support USB pass through so you can charge your joycons + be able to play on the big scren (TV) while charging the joycons AND that way if you buy a second pair of joycons you can slide that into the console thats in the dock.
Less convoluted approach and more functional. And look!!!! Took me all of 1 min to think of that.
