All I can honestly say (or ask) is this:

If this is so irrelevant, why is nintendo making a version of the grip and selling it for $30 that enables this very thing I am talking about here?

Now if this accessory came like say 6-8 months after the console launched and due to an outcry by gamers, I would even understand it as it being some sort of oversight on their part.

But the console is not even out yet and they already have a grip that allows you charge and game at the same time? But not the grip that comes with the console.... and that doesn't seem fishy to you guys at all?

Funniest part is this, adding a USB pasthrough for charging in the grip wouldn't have cost them more than a $1/$2 at best.

I get that it's an added convenience but console manufacturers usually charge extra for that stuff:
