Why go to war over this of all things? When my DualShock dies I plug it into the system and wait. When my XOne controller dies I dig around for some AA batteries. When my Joy-Cons die (after one of my routine 20-hour 1-2-Switch sessions) I'll place them back on the system.

But you are missing the point.

This isn't the kinda thing to go to war over; then again this kinda thing shouldn't even be happenning.

Sony gets shit for not putting a bigger battery in their controller. But at least they use a recahrgeable battery and said controller has a USB port. So you can charge and game at the same time.

MS gets shit for not using a recargeable battery, but even their controller has a USB port.

But somehow nintendo makes a controller (the grip in this case) with no USB port. Mind you, the whole point of that is that some people will or could only use this console as a dedicated TV console and have the joycons permanently be in the grip sitting next to the couch. But this ommission literally means its IMPOSSIBLE to charge your controllers and game on the big screen at the same time unless you spend another $30????

If this was sooooo irrelevant and such a non issue; then why did nintndo bother making a grip that supports charging and sell that seperately?

To be honest, my problem isnt just this grip nonsense, its that I just don't like what nintendo does. From the pricing of their accessories and now this? Anyways, guess this should be expected from a company that releases a handheld with no AC adaptor. What all this confirms to me is that the switch really is just a handheld console.... all these things done to allow you use it as a home cnsole seems more and more like an after thought to me.

I dunno man. There are some legit problems with Switch but I don't get this one. The system comes with two controllers and with a perfectly acceptable way to charge them. I would just plug it in overnight.
