Each is a piece of deciated gaming hardware that is of equal profit to the company, This about there hardware sales and handheld console is still a console, likewise how the Switch is a handheld console with the bonus of hooking up to a TV. Both 3DS and Wii U get the same IPs and even the same games across both. Yoshi's wooly world, Smash Brother's and Super mario maker are available across the platforms. If by just because it has a different form factor or is a diiferent system shouldn't anything overwise you shouldn't be able to compare the Switch with PS4 or Xbox one. Each platform counts as their install base, especially since one of their most popular franchies (Pokemon) is generally handheld only.

And the problem with your argument that everyone is pointing out but you chose to ignore is that if you accept the logic you are pointing out for why handhelds are included, you'd have to include many PCs bought for gaming purposes that profit Microsoft. Just as ridiculous as counting those PC sales would be in a console debate, so is counting handhelds.

I do not get that. As many components and laptop I am crazy enough to buy, I will not buy a Windows key every time, I'll get a Free OS laptop, or build another PC without buying windows again, and I certainly don't get a PC to play Microsoft games.
