I agree with Nintendo but that's not an argument. Good games hold their value. That's a fact.

Well, let's use Zelda as an example then. Zelda games usually get a meta score around 95 and most of them have won GOTY awards, so let's compare those prices to some games from other publishers.

Bethesda, Skyrim, 96 meta, GOTY winner in 2011: $10 for the standard edition, $20 for the legendary edition with all DLC
Take-Two, Red Dead Redemption, 95 meta, GOTY winner in 2010: $20 currently with all DLC, standard version regaularly on sale for $10
Sony, Uncharted 3, 96 meta, GOTY winner in 2009: $20 list price, currently on sale for $14
Microsoft, Halo 3, 94 meta, GOTY nominee in 2007: $16.88 currently
2K Games, Bioshock, 96 meta, GOTY Winner in 2007: $11.67 currently
Capcom, Street Fighter 4, 94 meta, Fighting GOTY winner in 2009: $15 currently
Konami, Metal Gear Solid 4, 94 meta, GOTY winner in 2008: $18 currently
Warner Bros., Batman: Arkham City, 96 meta, GOTY winner in 2011: $12 currently with all DLC included
Activision, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, 94 meta, GOTY winner in 2007: $20 currently
EA, Mass Effect 2, 96 meta, GOTY winner in 2010: $10 currently

In the end, Nintendo care's more about making a big profit on each sale than they care about volume sales.

That's the problem. You are comparing those games to Nintendo games. Even with Zelda. I mean, in this world it's Zelda, and the rest. That's an universal fact.
