Each is a piece of deciated gaming hardware that is of equal profit to the company, This about there hardware sales and handheld console is still a console, likewise how the Switch is a handheld console with the bonus of hooking up to a TV. Both 3DS and Wii U get the same IPs and even the same games across both. Yoshi's wooly world, Smash Brother's and Super mario maker are available across the platforms. If by just because it has a different form factor or is a diiferent system shouldn't anything overwise you shouldn't be able to compare the Switch with PS4 or Xbox one. Each platform counts as their install base, especially since one of their most popular franchies (Pokemon) is generally handheld only. |
Bold as many parts as you like. The point I replied to compared an xb1 game with a wiiu game. My problem was with using the success of a single game to draw conclusions about the success of the entire console. My point was that you get a better picture by looking at total software sales.
Now if that's done and you want to talk about 3ds sales, sure. I don't know the total software sales of 3ds, but I'm sure they're pretty good, most likely better than xb1's.
