People are hyped, and nobody is complaining about graphics (well except you I guess).
If it seems like people arent hyped though maybe its just because its being overshadowed by the console itself, Zelda and Mario which are all much bigger deals still.
Splatoon is big but its no Zelda. On top of that its very popular in Japan, which makes it seem less popular than a franchise that is equally big but only preforms in the west.
If you head on over to Nintendo Japan's YT you will see its trailer has outperformed every other video since the Switch event for them.
