When I buy a system, it has to either be with 2-3 games I *really* want to play, or fewer than that if I'm confident the flow of games will come. (Think I only bought one game at Playstation 2-4 launch, but was confident 1st & 3rd party would get the ball rolling soon.)
As this is a Switch thread, here is the real answer to the OP - people are complaining about the launch lineup because:
#1 The only truly exciting title is Zelda - may as well sell the system with it bundled for $360 - and people were hoping the slow last two years of the WiiU meant a big Switch launch lineup.
#2 The next game of interest for many of us, Mario Odyssey, doesn't drop for 8ish months. The rest of the year is filled with ports of already available games or 1st party IPs that weren't interesting enough to sell us on the last system.
#3 You may only buy one game at launch, but it's nice to have some sort of variety. Like I said earlier, they may as well cut to the chase, raise the price and make Zelda a pack-in.
#4 I imagine some are thinking of just getting Zelda for WiiU and waiting until perhaps Mario Odyssey to get a Switch - a fuller launch / first year lineup would have avoided that situation.
