Having fan favorite characters lock behind hard to find Amiinos in Fire Emblem fates(Robin, Lucina, etc), was pretty gross. 

Except those character would not be there if they wouldnt have the incentive from amiibo and 90% of the cases amiibo content is completely insignificant, little touches of fanservice thats it. I find amazing the way people just cant see the difference, just as they cant see that this thing is not an abstract virtual thing you waste money on, no, is actually a high quality figure you can keep forever, what dlc does that?
