Touché XD. Sony/Nintendo/MS are the three of them evil and greedy bastards. That's for certain, they want our money. They saw an opportunity to bank more cash with paid services, and they suceeded. I think we should try to convince Nintendo to not do the same, which will probably not happen (I'm 99% sure). If not, well, we'll have to pay if we want to play online. I feel like I'm having a S&M relationship lately with gaming world. I fell constantly robbed, but I can't quit. Sadly I've just assumed that as "normal", but it shouldn't be.

It doesn't have to be.

Look, Splatoon 2 looks really cool. We all want to play that online.

However, Nintendo did say the online subscription is coming in fall, and it'll have a free trial before that. Since Splatoon 2 comes out in summer, everyone will have a chance to play that online for at least a while... then when we've already had that experience and the paywall comes, well, we just don't pay it. And not only do we not pay it, but we spam Nintendo's social media accounts with comments about it.

I mean, it can work. If only like 2% of Switch owners subscribe, Nintendo's going to have second thoughts. Look at the backlash the Xbox One had when it was announced - it prompted Microsoft to make changes to it. If there is any time when we can do something about it, that time is now.

Now I won't be able to be part of that since I won't actually own a Switch so soon... but I really hope the people stick together and do something about it. Nintendo is already charging a considerable price for the console and downright abusive prices for everything else related to it. We shouldn't be forced to pay even more to properly play the games we'll be paying to have.

I like that idea. I tend to play online games for a couple of months, so once I burn out Splatoon 2, I don't really have any reasom to pay for the suscription. Might as well hapoen with more people.
