Are you going to pretend like you have been on these boards, following the posts that have been made over the past 8 months?

Some posters, like myself, have been saying Switch was a hand held since before day one. Hell, my prediction was that because it was announced for a March release, it would be a hand held. And that prediction predates the cartridge or mobile chip powering the console rumor. Some of us were fighting with other Nintendo fans about it being nothing but a glorified hand held with TV out. I get that you think all Nintendo fans consider the console to be a home console, but that is untrue. Please, do not attempt to discredit these people because we have earned our day to gloat about how correct we are, too.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Switch

"The Nintendo Switch is an upcoming video game console developed by Nintendo, and the company's seventh major home console"

"Despite these characteristics, Nintendo markets the Switch primarily as a home console rather than as a portable"

http://www.polygon.com/2016/10/20/13347910/nintendo-switch-home-gaming-system

“Nintendo Switch is a home gaming system first and foremost,” the company told Polygon when asked if the system was going to impact the sale of the 3DS portable systems

I have been on these boards. But whether I have or not is irrelevant. It doesn't matter what posts have been made. It doesn't matter what you've been saying. It doesn't matter what your predictions were. It doesn't matter if you think you've "earned your day to gloat".

It is being a classified as a home console. Nintendo is calling it a home console. It is a home console. Whether you "predicted" that it would be a handheld means nothing because that's not what it is. Your prediction was wrong. So, we're not going to go by what you were saying 8 months ago. We're going to go by what is objectively factual. If I "predict" that the Scorpio will do 8K resolution, then it comes out and maxes at 4K; I don't get to continue calling it an 8K console just because of my "prediction" and then make current assessments based on that wrong prediction. It's an issue of soundness and validity.

You know those mods where they take the guts out of a 360 and put it in a laptop casing so that it's "portable", but then put an HDMI out to the TV if you want? That's what the Switch is. But, it's "official" instead of a "mod". But at the end of the day, you wouldn't call that "portable 360" a "handheld".

The Switch is Nintendo's next home console. They even said that it won't eat into 3DS sales because it's not competing in the handheld market. So let's nip the narrative in the bud before it even starts. The Switch has a high price point and is underpowered. It's 3rd party support is severely lacking. And the games that have been displayed look "ok" at best. Long story short, it's not looking good. And considering Nintendo home consoles have been going downhill since they entered the market (outside of the Wii outlier, NES > SNES > N64 > GC > Wii U > Switch????), I don't want to see any mentality of "it's not a home console so if it doesn't do good, it doesn't matter" or that Nintendo will make some "true" console to compete with the PS4 and XBOne down the line (or PS5 and Xbox Two).

I don't care if this is a long response or that it can be interpreted as "antagonistic". We need to stick to the facts here and prevent a narrative before it starts.

Your post, as long and silly as it is, proves my point. Hopefully you understand exactly what I am talking about.

Thank you for that.
