I struck through all of the stuff that could be easily guessed. Things like crappy battery life, which would be obvious or that Nintendo would be using a custom chip as they've done for pretty much every system. Laura at least got some things right that were specific enough to be impressive. |
First of all, the Nvidia rumor came from May, before anyone else was saying they were even involved. I wasn't JUST referring to the fact that it was custom. Secondly, they didn't only nail the crappy battery life, they nailed the lower part of its range at 3 hours. Thirdly, Kate not only correctly reported the Share button, but also its presence on the controller.
And finally....it's one thing guessing a load of hardware and software features, and getting a few right. It is quite another to KNOW the hardware features, report them and get them ALL right. As I pointed out in my post, that is the difference between lucky guesses and actually knowing what you're talking about. And these two clearly knew what they were talking about in these instances. They didn't get a single hardware feature wrong. They didn't get a single thing about Mario Kart's enhancements wrong so far (Emily also revealed exact numbers for the new content, which Nintendo has not confirmed yet).
They got launch titles sort of wrong. I say sort of, because Dale said she was hearing conflicting reports about Skyrim, heard the Rabbids RPG might get knocked to September, and believed the Mario game was more likely to be delayed now that Zelda was making launch. Even said one game she originally reported to be a port was actually likely a sequel.
