I kept reading comments like "thank god there is one company left that doesn't do DLC or ask gamers to pay for internet that they already pay. It shows that it cares about games, not just money". I wonder how such people truly feel about it now. Maybe they don't want to admit it to others or to themselves, but deep down they must be pissed.

Unless their love for their favourite company clouds their judgement that much.

Anyway, I guess we may never know.

I dont get it, why be ok with it when Sony and Microsoft do it, either be upset with all 3 or none. People complained with the Wii U's online even though it was free they're just getting what they wished for, dont expect a good online service on a console unless your willing to pay a small fee each month/year. Besides getting free vitural console games each month with new online connectivity built in sounds like a good deal to me! I think its just going to take a bit of time for people to adjust.

I'm afraid you're missing the point. I'm not arguing that ps/ninty/xb fans should or shouldn't be upset with paying for online multiplayer.

I'm specifically asking how the people who held Nintendo so high as different than Ms and Sony (who were called "greedy", among other things), feel now that their favourite company is doing the same.

Also, keep in mind that not all online services are the same. We don't know how good N's may be, but we do know that the games that Sony has been offering lately have been critised to death and that MS has been offering better games. Same when Sony first announced that online multiplayer will be behind paywall (a lot of people criticised Sony and switched to PC).

I already see some Nintendo fans upset about and it's nice to see that they're sticking to their principles.
