They probably could have, but I think for it to really be worth it, it would need to be more than 32GB lol.

I'm not saying it's not an issue, I'm just saying it's a small issue especially compared to the Wii U's situation.

And I am not saying it is a big issue. I am saying it was one that could have been avoided with little expense from Nintendo considering the price. I happen to have a 128GB Class whatever SD card so I am fine. 

The reality is very few people would buy any SD card not less than 128 GB. I don't know where you live but that from the outset adds considerable cost to the console if you plan to download lots like I do.
