There is no reason we cannot help the refugees (any refugees) as well as guard against our own civility and safety. But to ignore it all and watch hundreds, thousands or millions die is a crime against humanity and if you're religious, against all religious teaching (regardless of the brand).

Regardless of what you do though it will always be at the expense of the people of the country. Even if the refugees don`t cause any safety issues there are still the economic ones, there are only so many houses and jobs to go around after all.
As for them dying, well better them than us. And it`s not even as if they`re dieing of a natural disaster or illness or something, it would be more reasonable to help then, although I`d probably still be against it.
