Don't know what politicians in Austria are like , but in Australia ,on the right you have half of them being either second rate Lawyers or carreer politicians who from university to political office, have come up by using a well worn path of working for the party machine or being picked from a govt agency after being put there earlier when their side was last in power, the left side is made up of pretty much the same , second rate lawyers but their party machine path is through the unions.
