Have you tried Persona 3 & 4? honestly both are fantastic, can highly recammend giveing them a go.
If you dont own a PS2 anymore (threw it out or whatever)... *caugh"emolation"caught*
Still Persona games stand on their own, so you wouldnt have needed to play the others before hand, to enjoy persona 5.
