As for the PS4, it would still be beating the X1 without exclusives, yes, but many people buy PlayStation systems for a number of Sony's IPs.

Yeah, the hardcore games and gamers who are in the know. However, the casuals rule the industry and they buy the same third party games over and over like COD,Madden, Ect. Nintendo still haven't receive full third party support and people's xbox one and ps4 already plays ALL the third party games, cheaper systems to play them and to top it off probably plays the games better too and their friends are on it as well already.
