I don't understand this logic, "they didn't make money so you should buy their game".
Nobody should feel obligated or pressured into buying something they don't want, it's the developer/publisher's responsibility to make sure a game is financially successful, not consumers.
The game could be great for all I know but it wasn't a success because they didn't do enough to make the game stand out in a crowd of thousands of other similar, small indie titles.
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
