You really think a console that releases in 2017 will have only 2tb less than a console in 2020 or so. Scorpio 2 will be at least 10tf, probably 12-14. But that's ok for the Scorpio to play 9th gen games as long as it's CPU is not jaguar or equivalent. Assuming 9th gen games are all 4K native and 60fps. Scorpio would have no problem playing the same games at 1080p/30fps.
9th gen will be very interesting because ps5 and Xbox could launch at the same time and be priced at 399-450 most likely. While Scorpio will likely be 250-300 by then and playing the same games. Microsoft will likely require Scorpio versions of games. even if ps5 comes the year before it should be ok for Microsoft because Scorpio will still be the cheapest way to play 9th gen games, and Scorpio 2 will be the most powerful way to play 9th gen. |
I thought xbox 2 coming in 2019 to be honest. If 2020, the 9th gen xbox will have around 10 tf I think. Still will make xbox scorpio relevant, they just need downsize rez/fps/textures/ect. Also, this is the whole point of UWP. Make one game for windows 10/xbox consoles and it will downscale automatically.
