All developping nations are seeing declining birthrates.
In many cases, Japan is the endpoint of classical (neoliberal) economics. An overcompetitive, stagnative, in many cases unimaginative (though there are luckily some examples to the contrary) economy where you can't drive your car from A to B without passing multiple tol booths since even the roads are privatised.
