I'm from Chicago. 2016 ended with 746 homicides. 

I hope to live in a place like that one day. It all depends on my wife. She likes this area too much and wants to remain closer to her parents. 

Move to scandinvia, and pick any small town, and its probably like that.

Im danish, however I know its not like this everywhere in denmark.

Eg our capital has alot higher crime rates than small towns out in the country side does.

 

*edit 1:  I had to google danish + homicide rates.. and first link I clicked had

"In 2012, Denmark had a murder rate of 0.8 per 100,000 population.[1] There were a total of 47 murders in Denmark in 2012"

Our country is pretty small though, like 5.6m only.
