Keep up with PS4? It won't, and everyone knows it. Unless they do some batshit insane pricing model, it will be a niche hardcore product and sales will reflect that, like the Pro.

Difference for me personally is the Scorpio represents a much larger upgrade, plus I game on Xbox more so naturally I'll be way more interested in that one than the one I barely use.

How do we differentiate from a generation leap if Scorpio represents a larger upgrade? Imho and however bitter it seems, the console has failed to click like its competition and MS clearly is struggling on the idea of whether a mid gen upgrade or full would be their last bet for the One to take some of that lead by from its competition.  PS4 has dominated this generation already although sales for the One has not been that lagging. Thanks to fisher priced UHD blu ray player. Do we need to bank on a video game console or movie player? These are the things to be kept in mind as the whole thing is a vicious cycle which will get completed should Sony announce PS5 around the corner.

I agree, they are not in a good way with the Xbone, but Papa Phil has been working pretty hard to erase the stigma the brand was in thanks to the previous regime, he's been succeeding thus far, but its too late for this gen really.

I'm fine with doing away with hardware generations. I upgrade phones and cycle through televisions every three years or so, no reason why I can't do that with my consoles imho.
