Veknoid, Veknoid, Veknoid... Why are you ruling out the possibility of timed exclusivity that has nothing to do with Nintendo giving any sorts of incentives? Just one generation ago we had Rayman Legends exclusively announced for Wii U, and anyone with half a brain could have guessed that Nintendo wouldn't pay for such a game and that it will also eventually end up on other platforms. Then Ubisoft specifically delayed the game to release it on several platforms at once, thus squashing all theories that Nintendo had ever paid any money for exclusivity of any form. |
But why would Ubisoft do that? Where is the benefit in releasing first on Switch and 12 months later on other platforms? I understand Nintendo doesn't have a track record of this kind of cynical incentivizing, but I don't understand how breaking apart the release schedule of a game like BG&E (or Rayman Legends for that matter) benefits the publisher.
